Johnny Depp As Barnabas Collins In Dark Shadows
Well look who’s at it again! Johnny Depp and Tim Burton have teamed up for Dark Shadows, which looks like an awesome vampire movie! Johnny Depp and Tim Burton are coming together once more to work on a new gothic vampire flick, Dark Shadows, which will hit theaters on May 11 2012 . The movie, which is based off of an ABC soap that aired from 1966 to 1971, is going to be a big bag of paranormal, with the show featuring witches, werewolves, zombies, vampires and a whole bunch of other things that you wouldn’t want as your roommate. Depp is going to be taking on the role of Barnubus Collins, the one that made the show the cult classic that it is. It is also the character who Johnny Depp has said to have been obsessed with as a child. Creepy. Gingrich gets Perry nod, faces ex-wife allegations (AP)
BEAUFORT, S.C. ? In an up-and-down kind of campaign day, Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich picked up an endorsement Thursday from former rival Rick Perry but also faced new accusations from one of his former wives that he had asked her permission to have an "open marriage" after she learned he was having an affair.
The former House speaker also prepared to release his 2010 income tax returns, certain to bring fresh scrutiny to his campaign.
Two days before the pivotal South Carolina primary, Gingrich's political and private life were clashing just as new polls showed him rising as he looks to overtake GOP front-runner Mitt Romney in the third state to weigh in on the presidential race. Gingrich has seen his crowds grow in recent days after a strong performance in a debate Monday.
With the second debate of the week looming Thursday night, it was unclear how the new revelations from Marianne Gingrich would play in a state where religious and socially conservative voters hold sway.
Equally uncertain was whether Gingrich would get a boost from Perry's endorsement, given that the Texas governor had little support in the state, and get conservative voters to coalesce behind his candidacy. Complicating Gingrich's effort is another conservative, Rick Santorum, who threatens to siphon his support.
"Newt is not perfect but who among us is," Perry said as he bowed out of the race and called Gingrich a "conservative visionary."
It was all but certainly intended to counter the interview with Marianne Gingrich, her first on television since the divorce from Gingrich in 2000, that ABC News was set to broadcast Thursday night.
In excerpts the network released before the broadcast, Marianne Gingrich said that when she learned of Gingrich's affair with Callista Bisek, a congressional staffer, he asked his wife to share him.
"And I just stared at him and he said, `Callista doesn't care what I do,'" Gingrich' second wife said. "He wanted an open marriage and I refused."
Gingrich brushed aside reporters' questions after a campaign event along the waterfront in Beaufort, S.C. on Thursday.
"Look, I'm not going to say anything about Marianne. My two daughters have already written to ABC complaining about this as tawdry and inappropriate," he said.
Gingrich has said in the past that tough questions are fair game for a candidate running for president. But on Thursday he referred all queries about his second marriage to his two daughters from his first marriage.
"I'm not getting involved," he said.
The television interview with Marianne Gingrich threw a wild card into the race in its final hours.
Its mere existence shines a spotlight on a part of Gingrich's past that could turn off Republican voters in a state filled with religious and cultural conservatives who may cringe at his two divorces and acknowledged marital infidelities.
Marianne Gingrich has said Gingrich proposed to her before the divorce from his first wife was final in 1981; they were married six months later. Her marriage to Gingrich ended in divorce in 2000, and Gingrich has admitted he'd already taken up with Callista Bisek, a former congressional aide who would become his third wife. The speaker who pilloried President Bill Clinton for his affair with Monica Lewinsky was himself having an affair at the time.
Underscoring the potential threat to his rise, Gingrich's campaign released a statement from his two daughters from his first marriage ? Kathy Lubbers and Jackie Cushman ? suggesting that Marianne Gingrich's comments may be suspect given the emotional toll divorce takes on everyone involved.
"Anyone who has had that experience understands it is a personal tragedy filled with regrets and sometimes differing memories of events," their statement said.
A CNN/Time South Carolina poll released Wednesday showed Gingrich in second place with support from 23 percent of likely primary voters, having gained 5 percentage points in the past two weeks. Romney led in the poll with 33 percent, but he had slipped some since the last survey. Santorum was third, narrowly ahead of Texas Rep. Ron Paul and well ahead of Perry.
Regardless of the South Carolina outcome, Gingrich was making plans to compete in Florida's primary on Jan. 31.
Confidence exuded from Gingrich, who rose in Iowa only to be knocked off course after sustaining $3 million in attack ads in Iowa from an outside group that supports Romney. Gingrich posted dismal showings in both Iowa and New Hampshire.
By the time the race turned to South Carolina, he was sharply criticizing Romney as a social moderate who is timid about attacking the nation's economic troubles. He also raised questions about Romney's experience as a venture capitalist, while a super PAC that supports Gingrich aggressively attacked Romney as a vicious corporate raider. Gingrich also ripped Romney for standing by as a super PAC run by former top Romney political aides continued to attack him in South Carolina.
Romney ended up on the defensive and by Monday night's debate, Gingrich was back in command. He earned a standing ovation when he labeled Democratic President Barack Obama "the best food stamp president in American history." The clip became the centerpiece of a television ad that began airing Wednesday as Gingrich worked to cast himself as the Republican with the best chance of beating Obama in the fall, stealing a page from Romney's playbook.
Said Gingrich senior adviser David Winston: "His taking on Barack Obama showed a toughness and an electability that the electorate is looking for."
Since then, Romney's campaign, sensing Gingrich's rise and working to deflect from its own troubles, has been trying to undercut Gingrich's claim that he helped President Ronald Reagan create millions of jobs in the 1980s, likening it to "Al Gore taking credit for the Internet."
Romney also dispatched supporters to make the case that Gingrich is erratic and unreliable. A new Romney Web video features former Republican Rep. Susan Molinari of New York saying Gingrich lacked discipline and labeling his time as speaker "leadership by chaos."
Gingrich, for his part, has been helped by the fact that Santorum has seemed unable to capitalize on the endorsement of a group of influential Christian conservatives. Those who aren't backing the former Pennsylvania senator seem to be coming Gingrich's way.

LOS ANGELES (AP) ? An investigation unfolding near the iconic Hollywood sign in Los Angeles is playing out like a gory movie script, as police worked to identity a man whose body was found in parts over the past two days ? first a head on Tuesday, then two hands and two feet on Wednesday.
Investigators will continue to beat the brush along a winding hiking trail on Thursday to see if they can find more body parts.
Authorities said the head came from a man believed to be 40 to 60 years old. Police think all the body parts are from the same man but are trying to confirm that.
Dog walkers found a severed human head inside a plastic bag Tuesday after two of the dogs they were walking began toying with an object. When they shook the plastic bag, a human head fell out onto the ground, according to police Cmdr. Andrew Smith.
The first hand was found as dozens of officers and homicide investigators combed the brush, and a coroner's cadaver dog came upon it about 50 yards from where the head was discovered on Tuesday afternoon, the Los Angeles Times (http://lat.ms/xWFSjT ) reported.
The second hand and both feet were found nearby later Wednesday afternoon. No details were immediately available on the condition of the body parts.
The man might have been killed elsewhere in recent days and his body dumped in the park, Smith said. Wild animals in the park may have other body parts, he said.
Police were looking at reports of missing persons, and coroner's investigators were to check dental records to try and determine his identity.
Smith noted that the area is well traveled by both cars and hikers. A paved road winds around picnic areas and a children's playground before connecting with a trail that eventually winds up near the Hollywood sign.

Occupy protesters rally against Congress at Capitol (Reuters)
WASHINGTON (Reuters) ? Demonstrators from the Occupy movement rallied at the Capitol and congressional office buildings on Tuesday to protest against the influence of money on lawmakers.
In a sign of renewed vigor for the Occupy movement, which staged protests in many cities last fall, several hundred demonstrators staged rallies and attempts to meet lawmakers as they returned from a holiday break.
Occupy protesters from around the country who gathered on the Capitol's rain-soaked lawn carried signs saying, "Face it liberals, the Dems sold us out," "Congress for sale" and "Banksters of America."
"We're trying to make the congressional representatives and constituents around the world who haven't bothered being involved yet realize that we're here, and you can have a voice and stand up for your rights," said Sara Shaw, 24, of Washington.
After a morning rally on the Capitol's West Lawn, protesters who had come from as far as Nevada and San Diego attempted to enter the Capitol and congressional office buildings.
A Capitol Police spokeswoman said officers were monitoring the protesters. One demonstrator was arrested for assaulting a police officer and three others for crossing a police line, she said.

The protest against Congress comes as a record 84 percent of Americans say they disapprove of the way Washington lawmakers are doing their job, according to a Washington Post/ABC News poll published on Monday.
Democrats and Republicans fought last year over the best way to control the U.S. debt and budget deficit as the parties tried to position themselves for the 2012 elections.
"Corporations and government have been so inextricably linked that it's not a true democracy anymore, and people have to realize that," said David, 16, a high school student from New Haven, Connecticut, who gave only his first name.
The leaderless Occupy movement burst onto the national scene in September at Wall Street in New York with its focus on income inequality and the perceived greed of the rich and powerful.
The movement succeeded in changing the national political conversation but it has weakened with winter weather and perhaps protest fatigue. Police have cleared Occupy encampments in New York, Los Angeles and other big cities.
The Washington Occupy movement has been among the most durable, in part because the National Park Service has allowed protesters to keep their encampments in two public squares near the White House.
District of Columbia officials are starting to show signs of impatience. Mayor Vincent Gray urged the National Park Service last week to remove protesters from one of the sites, McPherson Square, citing a rat infestation and other health concerns.
Among their rounds of congressional officers, protesters stopped at the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and met a staffer, according to a Twitter feed from @aubreyjwhelan.
The committee's chairman, Darrell Issa, a California Republican, has criticized the Park Service for not taking action against protesters in McPherson Square.

Jon Huntsman set to drop out, back Romney. Will it make a difference?
Given the nature of Republican primary voting, moderate GOP candidate Jon Huntsman was a long shot from the beginning. He's set to endorse Mitt Romney, although it's unclear how much difference that will make in a race for the nomination that already favors Romney.
And then there were five.?Jon Huntsman?s withdrawal from the 2012 presidential race, announced Sunday, reduces the number of GOP hopefuls.?But it?s unlikely to hasten the eventual selection of the Republican nominee, and it?s unclear who will be helped most by the former Utah governor?s move ? even though he?s endorsing Mitt Romney.

His third-place finish in the New Hampshire primary (behind Romney and libertarian Ron Paul) ? the state where he?d focused most of his campaign effort ? had to have been a disappointment.
Given the more-conservative hue of Republican primary voters in the upcoming South Carolina primary Saturday, Huntsman?s prospects for a comeback were all but nil.

Unlike Michele Bachmann, who bailed out the day after coming in sixth in the Iowa caucuses (Huntsman was seventh), Huntsman never had his moment in the sun. Rick Perry and Newt Gingrich rose and fell, Herman Cain was forced out by questions about his character, and Rick Santorum has had a bit of a surge lately as the latest anti-Romney favored by evangelical Christians and other social conservatives. It was a phenomenon in the 2012 presidential race that Huntsman never enjoyed.
He is a highly-respected moderate Republican with an impressive political background, a manner that is pleasant (with some awkward moments when he tries to be funny or hip), and a wealthy family background that allowed him to start his campaign with $2 million of his own money and a billionaire father who was the chief funder of a super PAC created to help Huntsman?s presidential effort. Like Romney, he?s a Mormon, although apparently more relaxed about it at a time when the church still is viewed as suspect by a significant percentage of self-identified conservative Christians.
His record as governor was (or at least should have been) a strong asset. His other major political position ? US Ambassador to China ? certainly indicated a high level of experience in foreign affairs and trade, something generally lacking among his rivals ? except that he served overseas under the president he hoped to unseat.
Although he could be critical of his opponents on issues, Huntsman emphasized ?civility, humanity and respect? in his campaign ? even going out of his way to note that President Obama loved the United States just as much as he does. That was not necessarily the attitude displayed by party activists during the primary election season ? certainly not by conservative talk show hosts for whom ridicule and derision is a primary means of political discourse.
Ironically, news of Huntsman?s withdrawal came on the same day The State, South Carolina's largest newspaper, endorsed him for president. The endorsement said there were "two sensible, experienced grownups in the race," referring to Romney and Huntsman. But it said Huntsman "is more principled, has a far more impressive resume, and offers a significantly more important message."
Although Huntsman was scheduled to make his announcement ? including the Romney endorsement ? Sunday morning, campaign officials told several news sources Saturday that the decision had been made.
?The governor and his family, at this point in the race, decided it was time for Republicans to rally around a candidate who could beat Barack Obama and turn around the economy,? campaign manager Matt David told the New York Times. ?That candidate is Gov. Mitt Romney.?
